Fresh Fruit

On Tuesday, we toured Potsdam with our friends Phillipp and Franzi.  Phillipp introduced us  to the market.  Here Meredith and Phillipp operate the hand pump to wash yummy  fresh strawberries. We also learned that blueberries aren't the real thing, the real thing being bluer, smaller and the source of serious hand and teeth stains. We were amazed by gooseberries the size of walnuts and eggplants the size of fingerling potatoes.  We were also interested to learn that red currents are often served with milk and sugar as a breakfast food.
